Thangam at an event for the The All Party Parliamentary Group on Children, Teenagers, and Young Adults with Cancer

Every year, 4,000 children and young people under 25 are diagnosed with cancer. Treatment can be an extremely difficult time for young patients and their families. While the government can’t take away that all that worry, I am campaigning to make sure that the support and care for children and young people, and their families, is the best it can be.

In Parliament, I set up The All Party Parliamentary Group on Children, Teenagers, and Young Adults with Cancer. I am also calling for the government to create a travel fund accessible to every family with a child or young person diagnosed with cancer to support them with their travel costs.
