Bristol City Council have created a page dedicated to Coronavirus which you can see here. It contains useful and updated information. As of tomorrow, all Bristol Museums will be closed until 1 May 2020 initially. As of Thursday 19 March, Bristol Libraries will close and provide only online services. There will be measures put in place including a fines amnesty for overdue items and automatic renewals.
Bristol City Council have asked landlords who are considering serving a notice on their tenants to contact them first on firstname.lastname@example.org. They say that they can put measures in place to prevent homelessness being created from the outbreak.
The government has announced £3.2 million of emergency funding to help rough sleepers self-isolate. Councils will be reimbursed for the cost of providing accommodation and services to those rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, who are suffering from coronavirus.
Supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Iceland have announced that they will open for the first hour for the over-70s only.
I will be working with the Council to try to support social care, food provision, businesses, funding, and travel sector.
