Citizens of other European Union countries were recently turned away from voting in the European Parliament elections, despite their legal right to vote. The blame for this fiasco must lie with the government, which failed to confirm that the UK would take part in these elections until the last minute.

Today I spoke in a debate about this scandal. I was disappointed to see only a couple of Tory backbenchers turn up to the debate, showing how much they care about the disenfranchised EU citizens in their own constituencies.

I asked why the government doesn’t have a Minister for No Brexit, as it currently has a minister assigned to no-deal contingency planning. Of the three possibilities set out by Theresa May (her deal, no deal, or no Brexit), no Brexit is looking increasingly possible as the government realises the other two options will likely lead to disaster.
