Despite humiliating failure after crushing defeat, the Prime Minister is still failing to consider any possible alternative to her so-called ‘deal’.

Today I challenged Brexit Minister Kwasi Kwarteng to give MPs a vote on different options to move out of this crisis. The Prime Minister and government ministers keep complaining that MPs are only voting against the deal, rather than indicating what we want. But this complaint seems false, when they have blocked all opportunities for indicative votes, which would show what would have parliamentary support.

I was deeply disappointed with Minister Kwarteng’s pathetic reply, stating that we need to have another ‘meaningful vote’ on the deal first before we can even consider the next steps. This deal was already defeated twice, by historic margins. Were these meaningful votes not meaningful enough?
