This was the moment last night when I announced Labour’s win in one of the Brexit votes. The result sends a powerful signal: while the government stumble towards a chaotic no-deal outcome, it is clear there is no majority for this in Parliament.

Unfortunately this motion was not legally binding. I will continue to fight for the closest possible relationship with the EU. Meanwhile, the Tories managed to push through a motion asking Theresa May to reopen the closed negotiations with the EU. I am sceptical of her chances, to say the least!
