Yesterday I asked the Prime Minister possibly the most important Brexit question. How will she unite a deeply divided country? The answer I received was very disappointing.
Our country was divided before the Referendum vote in 2016, but divisive campaigning made it worse.
More than ever, we need a vision of where we are heading as a country, which works for everyone. We need leadership. Theresa May’s dismissive answer shows what I already suspected. Instead of trying to find common ground, she appears only to be listening to the Brexiteers in her party.
This fails all my constituents, whatever they voted, but particularly the four out of five who voted remain, and like me, feel utterly let down by this government.
