Shadow Leader of the House of Commons
The Tories have spent so long squabbling over their differences, there is now a very real risk that they will run out of time to make the laws we need before we leave the EU in March.
Last week I asked Leader of the House Andrea Leadsom whether the Immigration Bill White Paper would be coming in the next two weeks before Parliament breaks up for recess. Her non-answer did nothing to address my concerns.
I will continue pushing to scrutinise the vast array of new laws the Government needs to pass before we leave the EU.
One thing is becoming obvious in Westminster, and it must be obvious in Brussels too: time is running out.
