On Tuesday 29 December, I led a Westminster Hall Debate on family reunion for refugees.
At the moment, there are all sorts of restrictions for who refugees can bring with them once they have reached safety, and applications are often prohibitively expensive.
I think it is vital that restrictions are lifted and that legal aid is made available to refugees applying for family reunion. Refugees should be allowed to be reunited with their families – it is what we would want for our families if we were fleeing war and persecution.
