I was so inspired to join Kerry McCarthy to speak to a huge crowd on College Green today at the School Strike 4 Climate rally – all sharing a passion to stop climate change and protect our planet for the future.
If the government took the suggestions of the young people gathered today – abandoning fossil fuels, stopping airport expansion, investing in renewables – we could make a real impact in the fight against this climate change emergency, and be carbon neutral well before 2050! It also reaffirmed my deep-held conviction that we need votes at 16. The young people I met today know how we can safeguard their future; they should be able to vote!
