Happy birthday NHS!
Thanks to you and to all who work in you for saving my life.
Thanks to the cleaners and the porters and the admin staff as well as the medical people, the physios, radiologists and the anaesthetists, the doctors and the nurses, the dentists and the opthalmologists, and everyone else.
Thanks to Simon Cawthorn for setting up the Bristol Breast Care Centre in Southmead NHS Hospital and being the man who took me from diagnosis through treatment and on to the ups and downs of life after treatment ends.
Thanks to the Trade Union movement for being there for and fighting for the rights of everyone who works for you.
It makes me very proud to be a Labour MP and part of the history of the Party that made you.
You are the best example of why we are a Parliamentary party, seeking to improve the lives of everyone through Parliamentary means.
I can’t wait for us to get back into government and give you all the love and care you give us.
