First of all, well done to the activists, supporters, my organiser Imogen and my agent Phil for helping to get a Labour MP elected for Bristol West last Thursday. It was a long night and not a good one for Labour nationally. We’ve got a lot to think about but most urgently we have to be a strong voice for the people we aim to represent against a Tory government which is going to be hurting them.
So, as I was elected to be the Labour MP for Bristol West, I will be standing up for everyone in Bristol West, particularly the poorest and most vulnerable
I will be doing my best to achieve as much as possible under this government to help reduce and one day end child poverty.
I will be fighting for jobs and good opportunities for our young people – working with the schools, colleges, employers and others to raise aspiration and hope for the future.
I will be working with housing associations, tenants’ organisations, local people, builders and the Mayor and council to try to sort out Bristol’s housing crisis.
I will be working with you all as much as possible – an MP should always be working with the people they represent.
And I expect you all to hold me to account.
if that sounds like the sort of MP you want to work with, or campaign with, do consider joining the Labour party. You can join in my campaigning by leaving your details on my website and I’ll be in touch later this week with more information.
Thanks for your support.
