Last week in Parliament, I once again asked a government minister for funds to make Lawrence Hill station accessible. In response, Transport Minister Nusrat Ghani told me to be patient.

This is not good enough. People in Lawrence Hill have been waiting for an access ramp for years.

I was even more shocked when the same minister told a Conservative backbencher from Derbyshire:

“Network Rail has a duty to make sure its stations have decent accessibility, and where there is no accessibility, the rail operating companies have a duty to make sure passengers can carry on with their journey.”

If this is true in the Midlands, it surely applies to stations in Bristol too? I will write to her to find out.
