Bristol has a well-deserved reputation as one of the world’s most creative cities. But our place at the forefront of creative industries is jeopardised by the government’s chaotic attempts to leave the EU.

Musicians, film-makers, artists and others working in the creative industries desperately need reassurance that they will be able to continue to work across borders.

Today I asked the Department for Exiting the European Union what discussions they have had with creative industry representatives. From my discussions with musicians, I know that the current uncertainty is already having a negative effect on their work.

I believe the best thing for the UK is full EU membership. But whatever our future relationship with the EU, it must allow movement of artists and ideas.

Watch the question.
