Cat's Post: why I'm supporting Thangam

Hi, we are the first time voters for Labour in the Bristol West constituency! We’ve set up this blog so we can talk a little bit about some of the issues that we care about to young people in a similar position to us. Hopefully you will find it interesting and helpful for when the time comes to put a cross on your ballot paper!

Thangam has been heavily involved in campaigning to end domestic abuse for decades – an issue that currently claims the lives of 49 women on average per WEEK in the UK.

She wants to re-vamp the PSHE curriculum so that sex and relationships education is not only compulsory but also effectively taught and executed in a way that empowers young people to make informed decisions about their own personal welfare!

Domestic abuse is unfortunately very much prevalent in our society and Labour are the only party to have acknowledged this issue. Vote Thangam if you want to see domestic abuse tackled and prevented!
